The Herbert Art Gallery.
The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum and the Priory Visitor Centre will be joining forces this half-term to deliver a week of Amazingly Medieval make-and-take activities for children and families to enjoy together.
There's lots to do over the summer at the Herbert..
* 27th July - Create your own 'aged' royal portrait using a special technique with wax and ink, based on the Herbert's own King George II portrait - Two drop in sessions running between 10:30AM-12:30PM, & 1:30PM-3:30PM.
* 28th July - Decorate your own ornate picture frame - Two drop in sessions running between 10:30AM-12:30PM, & 1:30PM-3:30PM.
* 29th July - Decorate and bring to life your own Talking head! Two drop in sessions running between 10:30AM-12:30PM, & 1:30PM-3:30PM.
* 30th July - Make a felt portrait in a creative, messy workshop between 10:30 and 11:30 (Book at reception or call 024 76832386),
* 30th July - Check out the mammal exhibit in the covered court area between 1:00 and 3:00, before making your own animal to take home!
* 3rd August - Create a 3D self portait, inspired by Picasso - Two drop in sessions running between 10:30AM-12:30PM, & 1:30PM-3:30PM.
* 4th August - Create a series of funny looking faces - Two drop in sessions running between 10:30AM-12:30PM, & 1:30PM-3:30PM.
* 5th August - Create a scary magical mask with lots of sparkly decorations! Two drop in sessions running between 10:30AM-12:30PM, & 1:30PM-3:30PM.
* 6th August - Another chance to make some 'Felt Faces' - a portrait with a difference! Runs between 10:30 and 11:30 (Book at reception or call 024 76832386)
* 6th August - A chance to listen, and take part in story telling sessions at the Herbert - Sessions running at 1PM, 2PM and 3PM, for around 30-45 mins approx.
