About
I am an Investor at Mercia Ventures, focused on backing companies driving reindustrialisation, rebuilding the sectors that underpin economic sovereignty: energy, manufacturing, supply chains and frontier technologies.
We are moving into a more disordered world. Supply chains fragment. Energy systems are reshaped. Geopolitics matters again. In that environment, I look for convexity, backing businesses where downside is understood but upside expands with volatility, constraint and change.
My view is simple. The next decade will not be defined by incremental SaaS, but by those who can design, build and scale real world systems. Software matters, but only when it touches the physical world. Value will increasingly accrue to those who control production, not just abstraction. That requires a different kind of investor, one comfortable with technical depth, operational complexity and longer feedback loops.
