Previous experience
With a strong foundation in automotive sales, Claire built extensive stakeholder engagement skills through daily interaction with diverse customers and external partners. Her early career required strict adherence to finance, affordability and consumer‑protection standards, giving hands‑on experience working within regulated environments and ensuring accurate documentation, responsible needs assessment and fair customer outcomes. She later transitioned into automotive compliance, working closely with the Risk & Compliance Director of a car‑finance brokerage to embed robust regulatory processes and ensure Consumer Duty principles were consistently upheld across the business. Since joining Mercia, Claire has taken the lead on compliance monitoring across the group and oversees the SM&CR regime, ensuring high standards of governance, accountability, and regulatory alignment.
