Howard joined Mercia Ventures in May 2024 as an Investment Director in the East Midlands team specialising in deal origination, execution, business building and value creation. He is passionate about building a portfolio of exciting businesses and working with entrepreneurs.
Previous experience
Prior to joining Mercia, Howard has worked in investment and innovation delivery across multiple sectors and geographies. He worked for energy giant E.ON for 12 years, establishing their corporate venture fund and their presence in San Francisco. He has experience in automotive innovation delivery as well as construction infrastructure. Most recently, prior to joining Mercia Ventures, he ran the investment, innovation and improvement department at a major UK project. In his career he has lived and worked across Europe, the United States and worked extensively in Asia.
Originally a scientist by training, he quickly converted his allegiance to business, studying at the University of Liverpool, Insead and the Judge Business School, Cambridge.
