Katherine began her career in Birmingham as an apprentice in BDO’s audit team, gaining experience across sectors such as manufacturing, insurance, hospitality, and automotive. After qualifying as an accountant, she moved into BDO’s Business Restructuring team – helping businesses navigate financial challenges and make strategic decisions.
Then came a big change of scenery: 18 months in sunny Brisbane, where Katherine worked on advisory and transactional deals in industries ranging from agriculture and retail to property and tourism. After returning to the UK, she rejoined BDO before moving into venture with Mercia’s West Midlands team in 2025, where Katherine now support ambitious businesses on their growth journeys.
