About
Sam joined Mercia in 2026 and is an Investment Associate within the Ventures team. He focuses on investing Mercia’s NPIF funds across Yorkshire and the North West, supporting high-growth businesses across a broad range of sectors.
Sam is responsible for sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, undertaking commercial and financial due diligence, and supporting portfolio companies throughout their growth journey.
Previous experience
Prior to joining Mercia, Sam worked in corporate finance advisory at Rickitt Mitchell, advising mid-market businesses, founders and private equity investors on acquisitions, disposals and strategic transactions across a range of sectors. During this time, he gained extensive transaction experience, with a particular focus on technology and software businesses.
Before Rickitt Mitchell, Sam trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC, where he obtained the ACA qualification. Sam also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Leeds.
