Thomas Chambers has had a range of industry and venture capital roles giving insight into, in particular, the technology and communications sectors. He is currently chair of Propel London (recruitment), member of Council of the University of Gloucestershire and an adviser to several private companies. Until 5 June 2024 he was a director of Kings Arms Yard VCT and until 2018 chair of First Utility (Shell Energy).
Previously, he played a significant role in the creation of the first Smartphones as CFO and Head of Software Engineering at mobile operating systems provider Symbian. He was also CFO at Robert Walters and spent six years in corporate finance at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson after five years with Price Waterhouse. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, an Associate of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and is an honorary Doctor of the University of Surrey. He was appointed to the Board of Northern 2 VCT PLC on 19 June 2024.
