About
Alex is an investor in Mercia’s VCT funds, and is involved in deal origination, leading transactions, portfolio management and eventual exits. Alex has sat on the Board of several portfolio companies, including Log My Care, Gentronix, Ridge Pharma, Oddbox, Locate Bio, Newcells, Turbine, Semble and Ablatus. He led Mercia’s exit of Gentronix in 2024.
Previous experience
Alex joined Mercia in 2021 after seven years in the world of science and technology: first as a science policy advisor for the UK government, and then as a consultant and client manager at IBM. Alex studied Biology at the University of Oxford and Science Communication at Imperial College London.
