Who we do it for

Backing the business of tomorrow

The power of the regions' networks

We invest in regional businesses – we’ve grown our assets under management so that we are a dominant provider of capital in the regions.

And it’s not just capital. We believe what sets Mercia apart is the scale and quality of its network. It’s not just about providing capital; it’s about providing the right type of support and guidance so that our portfolio teams can put that capital to use effectively.

Built up over several decades, Mercia’s investment network is formed from close contacts within a variety of institutions ranging from universities, to the corporate finance community, to our non-executive groups, and of course all of our operational and sector partners.

It is through this extensive network, made up of some of the most brilliant minds in UK enterprise, that we are able to provide the best possible support to our portfolio businesses. Our investment teams leverage the insight and guidance of these people to ensure that our portfolio companies can get from A to B, far quicker than they ever imagined the could. We do this using our regional footprint, across eight offices and team of more than 100 professional and investment staff, to connect people on a daily basis, making introductions which solve both operational and strategic issues across the entire portfolio.

The process with Mercia is straightforward and succinct, they have helped with useful introductions, including our new business development director and NED candidates.
