Tyres on the Drive – the online mobile tyre-fitting company backed by Enterprise Ventures – has been named as one of the winners of the 2016 Northern Tech Awards.
The company won the Judges’ Award for Leadership at the event at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel. The awards recognise the fastest-growing tech companies in the North of England and Scotland.
Tyres on the Drive was set up in 2011 by Dominic Clark, a former senior manager with Michelin, to offer customers a more convenient and cost-effective alternative to the traditional tyre-fitting depot. Enterprise Ventures backed the company from the start, following up with further rounds of funding to support its growth. The company has also attracted funding from MMC Ventures and True Capital.
Based in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, Tyres on the Drive now covers the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands and has been achieving triple digit growth, with turnover expected to top £100m in three years’ time.
Paul Taberner of Enterprise Ventures said: “Tyres on the Drive has transformed the tyre-fitting industry and resulted in a far superior experience for customers. This award recognises Dominic’s vision in developing the original concept and his hard work and determination in driving the company’s growth.”
